The consequences of theft in the workplace
According to a recent survey, more than a quarter of the population surveyed admitted to having stolen something at least once in the workplace: broken bond of trust.
The employee's duty of care and loyalty requires that he or she does not behave in such a way as to damage the employer's interests and cause economic loss. In case of violation of this duty, the employee is exposed to sanctions.
If an employee commits a theft to the detriment of his or her employer, the question arises as to what extent the theft can constitute grounds for immediate dismissal.
