Succession of fixed-term contracts under Swiss law
The parties may agree on an extension of their employment relationship for a new fixed term. However, the number of extensions is limited so as not to place the employee in a precarious situation.
The effect of a fixed-term contract is to deprive the employee of the protection against vacations and to limit the payment of wages in case of illness. The succession of several fixed-term contracts can be abusive.
